We offer engineered hardwood flooring, solid hardwood flooring, top brands, top notch installation, a variety of wood species choices and site finished options. We specialize in hardwood floor installation! Also, since we buy in large quantities we can keep the hardwood floor installation cost down thus saving you money.

Pre-finished Hardwood Flooring & Site Finished Hardwood Flooring

FloorTrends LLC offers both choices when it comes to hardwood floor installation. We can install a prefinished hardwood floor or an unfinished hardwood floor and have it sanded down, stained and finished on site. Both types of hardwood flooring have their pros and cons. A prefinished hardwood floor is normally less expensive overall. They are sanded down and finished at the factory with numerous coats of high quality, aluminum oxide infused and UV cured polyurethane which can provide the hardest finish on the market. There is, of course, various grades of prefinished hardwood flooring available so call the store for more information. Site finished hardwood flooring is when we install an unfinished hardwood floor and have it sanded down on site, stained and then finished with at least 2 to 3 coats of urethane. One of the advantages of this type of installation is that the floor is sanded uniformly and is very smooth. This type of hardwood floor installation can be more expensive than a prefinished hardwood floor installation.

Solid Hardwood & Engineered Hardwood Flooring

We carry hardwood flooring in either solid or engineered hardwood flooring formats. Solid hardwood flooring should be nailed down and installed above grade. Engineered hardwood flooring can be nailed down, glued down and even clicked together for a floating application (basements or other cement base floors are a good place for engineered hardwood flooring). Engineered hardwood flooring can have as little as 3 layers or as many as 9 layers. One of the advantages of engineered hardwood wood flooring is that it is much more dimensionally stable than solid hardwood flooring. Solid hardwood flooring will expand and contract during differing humidity levels in your home. During Winter when the furnace is running alot, your solid hardwood flooring will shrink as moisture is sucked out of the pores of the wood causing floor joints to widen. In the summer months when the humidity level is higher, the hardwood flooring will absorb moisture out of the air and expand, closing those widening gaps. Our sales team can steer you towards the perfect hardwood flooring choice for your exact circumstance. Whether it's solid hardwood flooring or engineered hardwood flooring.

Another advantage of engineered hardwood flooring is that you can achieve a wider plank size. Because of engineered hardwood's superior dimensional stability, engineered hardwood flooring manufacturers can make very wide planks and not have to worry about boards shrinking and causing wide gaps during the Winter time. Humidity control is essential when it comes to caring for a hardwood floor.
