Wood flooring can be nailed down over plywood, OSB or other approved wood based substrates. It can also be installed on concrete flooring, above or below grade. Concrete floors must be clean, cured and fairly flat. Some concrete substrates that are not flat enough according to manufacturers recommendations, will need prep work before a hardwood floor can be installed.
